In Trivandrum, Kerala, a transformative journey began for 100 underprivileged women through 400-hour training in Customer Relationship Management (Non-Voice) and Digital skills. Accredited by the Sector Skill Council under the Ministry of Skill Development, Government of India, Metric designed this course to empower women aged 18 and above with at least a 12th-grade education.
Our outreach efforts, including mobilization camps and home visits, connected us with these women, 94 of whom were from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. The training provided them with essential CRM skills and additional sessions on Cyber Security, Mindfulness, and Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH). These tools prepared them for stable employment and boosted their confidence.
The impact was significant, with 34% of participants securing jobs with salaries between Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 18,000 per month. This employment not only improved their communication skills but also enhanced their families' well-being.
A standout success story is that of Sanjana, a 23-year-old who, despite financial hardships, completed the course and secured a job at Cogent Company in Mangalore. Her new role offered her a salary of Rs. 15,000 per month, providing her and her family with much-needed financial stability.
Mentric was proud to offer job placements to 75% of these trained women, with the remaining participants opting to pursue higher studies. This journey of digital skilling and empowerment in Trivandrum is a testament to the power of education and the enduring strength of women determined to build better futures for themselves and their families.
