Certificate Programs (Short / Modular)

Hands-on Industrial & Automation Training Pathways

AI for Industrial Vision — Certificate (~60 hours)

Focus: Imaging & lighting, classical vs. deep-learning vision, labeling, robustness, and metrics.
Outcomes: Build and validate shop-floor QA vision pipelines; pass OEM micro-badges.

Edge IIoT for OEE — Certificate (~60 hours)

Focus: Sensors→gateway, OPC-UA/MQTT, dashboards, Andon/OEE tags.
Outcomes: Stream machine data, stand up OEE dashboards, and reduce downtime.

Robot + Vision Quickstart — Certificate (~60–70 hours)

Focus: Frames/I-O, camera-guided pick-and-place (sim + bench cell), safety basics.
Outcomes: Commission a basic robot-vision cell safely.

PLC/SCADA Technician — Certificate (3–4 months)

Focus: Wiring, P&ID→ladder, HMI & alarms, historian basics; commissioning SOPs.
Outcomes: Entry-level PLC/SCADA commissioning with safety and FAT/SAT exposure.

Sensors, Drives & Maintenance — Certificate (4–5 months)

Focus: VFD setup, encoder/sensor loops, condition-monitoring basics.
Outcomes: First-line maintenance on drives/sensors; reliability starter toolkit.

Mechatronics & IIoT for Industry 4.0 — Certificate (5–6 months)

Focus: Assembly/handling mini-cell, PLC + edge gateway, OEE dashboards.
Outcomes: Integrate a small smart-factory cell with live KPIs.

These certificate stacks run as repeatable sprints/batches with practical assessments, PrBL/PjBL methods, and safety drills; target annual throughput at KSU is ~450 learners/year across three tracks.
